“While vacationing at a remote cabin in the woods, a young girl and her parents are taken hostage by four armed strangers who demand they make an unthinkable choice to avert the apocalypse.”
M. Night Shyamalan‘s thriller, Universal’s Knock at the Cabin was released in theaters on February 3, and is now available to stream on digital, and you should.
I just finished watching it and a quick look at the movie’s numbers, it has made $47.9 million worldwide in theaters these past several weeks, with $31 million of that worldwide total made in the United States.

Storyline & Acting
Knock at the Cabin revolves around a group of friends –Dave Bautista, Rupert Grint, and Nikki Amuka-Bird, who hold a family Ben Aldridge, Kristen cui and Jonathan Groff (from mindhunter), who had decided to spend a weekend at a remote cabin in the woods, hostage.
The acting in Knock at the Cabin is top-notch, with each actor delivering a stellar performance. Dave Bautista outdoes himself in his role with the chemistry between the characters palpable, and the fear and desperation they portray really believable and realistic. Are Leonard (Dave) and his friends onto something, or is this all a coincidence? Is it manipulation? are they nuts? This movie will have you asking questions.
The direction of Knock at the Cabin is exceptional, with the director creating a tense and eerie atmosphere that keeps viewers engaged throughout the movie. I didn’t know the truth from the lies until the very end, the cinematography and the use of sound and lighting are also noteworthy, adding to the suspense and overall experience.
Coming off my last review of a thriller, (Inside Man Review: Thriller That Didn’t Thrill me One Bit), this is a welcome movie, ticked all the right boxes for me and I think you should go watch it!
