Introducing Bard, Google’s Answer to ChatGPT

Google now announced a new artificial intelligence (AI) tool dubbed Bard to take on OpenAI’s ChatGPT. Introduced on Monday, the Alphabet-owned company showcased the AI-powered features in Google Search.

Google CEO Sundar Pichai announced the soft launch of Bard to a set of “trusted testers,” showcasing what this early experimental release looks like with some examples.

Google is developing Bard on its Language Model for Dialogue Applications (LaMDA). Bard is initially being tested with a lightweight version of LaMDA.

The use of AI-powered chatbots has rapidly increased in recent months, becoming a key tool for businesses to improve their customer service and overall user experience. With the growth of messaging apps and advancements in natural language processing, ChatGPT has shown the world that AI is now more advanced than ever, able to understand and respond to user requests with greater accuracy and efficiency. (if you remove the programmed bias and wokeness in ChatGPT)

Integrating AI with Google search will mean users will now get their long queries responded to with long AI-created response instead of having to manually scroll through multiple websites for that info as seen below:

“Soon, you’ll see AI-powered features in Search that distill complex information and multiple perspectives into easy-to-digest formats, so you can quickly understand the big picture and learn more from the web: whether that’s seeking out additional perspectives, like blogs from people who play both piano and guitar, or going deeper on a related topic, like steps to get started as a beginner.” – Sundar Pichai

With Google planning to hold an event on 8th February that will focus on search, artificial intelligence, and more, we can expect the future of AI-powered chatbots to be competitive now that Google and Microsoft are going toe to toe.
