For the longest time, Twitter users have complained of Twitter compressing videos and images uploaded on the platform and making them look comparably worse than the actual raw image.
Now, Twitter’s latest update will let users finally view and upload 4K pictures on Android.
According to Android Police, the feature is currently live on Twitter beta v8.76 and above. The “Load 4K” option is located in the 3-dot menu seen after opening an image.
Uploading a 4k image requires a tweak in the settings. To enable, you will need to head over to Settings and privacy > Data usage > High-quality image upload on your android smartphone and select the option to upload high-resolution images only using Mobile data or Wi-Fi.
As is expected, now all you’ve got to do next is post an image with a 4K resolution (8.3MP) to Twitter and it’ll show in 4K on the popular social media platform.
Here are some 4K photos to try out the feature with.
Apparently you can now load 4K images on twitter. Just tap and hold on the image select Load 4K and zoom away ✨ pic.twitter.com/X3LDQXT9iF
