TikTok is now rolling out a dislike button on its platform globally after testing the feature since April 2022.
“Earlier this year, we started to test a new way people could identify comments they believe to be irrelevant or inappropriate. After some testing, we’re releasing it globally.” Tiktok stated on Twitter when announcing the feature.

Tiktok says the new feature is a way for users to give feedback directly. “This allows us to better identify irrelevant or inappropriate comments, which helps us foster a comment section for genuine and authentic interactions,” says TikTok.
Just like the dislike button on Twitter, user dislikes will not be public. If someone comments on something, they won’t be able to see how many times it’s been disliked. It will also be possible for people to take back their feedback by tapping again whenever they like.
