The TECNO Phantom V fold and the first ever foldable to run on a MediaTek chipset is now available for pre-order in Kenya if a promoted hashtag I saw on Twitter is something to go by since I don’t get their releases (I wonder why, lol)

In terms of key specs, the Phantom V Fold 5G is powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 9000+ processor that will be paired with 12GB RAM and have an internal storage option of either 256GB or 512 GB. The foldable has a large 6.42-inch FHD+ AMOLED screen on the outside and a 7.85-inch 2K+ AMOLED folding display on the inside.
When it comes to its look, the Phantom V Fold 5G has a fairly muted look, which is (to me) all we want in a device we will have in our hands on a daily. Perhaps what gives the smartphone some character that most people want is its eye-catching rear camera. The large circular rear camera hump isn’t unique though, as we’ve seen the design pop up on a couple of smartphones from Vivo and others. Regardless, it looks nice and hosts a triple camera array that houses a 50MP main camera, 50MP telephoto, and 13MP ultrawide camera.
When it comes to the battery, the device comes with a 5,000mAh capacity with support for 45W fast charging.

I still wouldn’t buy it, but the Tecno Phantom V Fold is impressive, considering the atrocity that was the Phantom X2. According to Techweez, the TECNO Phantom V Fold price will start at roughly Ksh 140,000 for the base model(12/256) with the maxed-out version with 512GB going for Ksh 153,000.
