Samsung Galaxy S23 Series to On February 1st: What to Expect

Samsung has announced the date for its annual Galaxy Unpacked event, set to take place on February 1st, 2023. This will be the first in-person event in three years, as previous editions have been held online due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The event’s main focus is expected to be the launch of the Samsung Galaxy S23 series. While details about the series are still scarce, it is expected to include the S23, S23+, and S23 Ultra, similar to the S22 series launched in February of 2022.

Here are what the devices are expected to look like:

One of the most highly anticipated features of the S23 series is a 200MP camera for the S23 Ultra, an upgrade from the 108MP camera on the S22 Ultra. This is in line with Samsung’s recent launch of a 200-megapixel sensor series in October 2022.

There are rumors that Samsung will be ditching its Exynos chips in favor of Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC to power all Galaxy S23 devices. In addition, leaks have shown that the S23 Ultra will come in four colors (green, black, pink, and white), while the S23 will come in three colors (black, gray, and pink).

Samsung is also offering customers the chance to reserve the new flagship device before its official launch, in exchange for $50 of Samsung Store credit.

The event will take place in San Francisco at 19:00 hrs (WAT) and will be streamed live on Techspace Africa, Samsung.com, and the Samsung YouTube channel.
