If you are an avid Techspace Africa reader, you know I have been covering the Microsoft, Activision Blizzard deal religiously, and today I have good news for my Playstation fans!
The bitter feud between Microsoft and Sony over the future of Call of Duty is finally over, maybe. After months of negotiations and third party court cases, the two companies have reached an agreement that will keep the popular first-person shooter franchise on PlayStation consoles for the next 10 years.
The announcement comes after Microsoft on Friday defeated a last-ditch effort by the US Federal Trade Commission to scuttle the company’s $69 Billion purchase of Activision Blizzard. The Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals declined to grant the regulator an emergency stay of a ruling that allows the deal to proceed in the US.
This is a major victory for PlayStation fans, who had been worried that Microsoft would pull Call of Duty from their platform after it completes its acquisition of Activision Blizzard. But now, they can rest easy knowing that they’ll still be able to enjoy the latest Call of Duty games on their PlayStations.
Of course, there are some PlayStation fans who are still crying about this deal. They’re upset that Microsoft is buying up game publishers because they feel they will no longer get more exclusives to taunt Xbox fans with.
But to these crybabies, I say: get over it. Call of Duty is just one game, and there are plenty of other great games out there that you can play on your PlayStation. Besides, you have Spiderman. lol. it’s not like you’re going to be completely deprived of Call of Duty either so shut it. You’ll still be able to play the older Call of Duty games on your PlayStation, and you’ll even be able to play some of the newer Call of Duty games through cloud gaming services like Google Stadia and Nvidia GeForce Now.
So, relax, PlayStation fans. Everything is going to be okay. You’ll still be able to play Call of Duty, and you’ll still be able to enjoy your PlayStation. There’s no need to be crybabies about it.
In the meantime, let’s all celebrate this victory for gamers. This is a major step forward for cross-platform gaming, and it shows that Microsoft and Sony are willing to work together to give gamers more choices. This is a good thing for everyone, and it’s a sign of things to come.
So, raise a glass to Call of Duty, and to the future of cross-platform gaming. Here’s to many more years of gaming, without any crybabies.thumb_upthumb_downtuneshareGoogle it
