Google has been teasing the release of its new Pixel Tablet for some time, and the anticipation among tech enthusiasts is palpable. This week, a few more details about the device have been leaked, and it seems we’re getting closer to its official release. However, the one piece of information that has yet to be revealed is the pricing.
Specs and Features
RAM and Storage
On Monday, we reported that the Pixel Tablet would come with 8GB of RAM and two storage options. According to WinFuture’s Roland Quandt, those storage options are 128GB and 256GB. This matches the storage options of Pixel phones and is a higher base than Apple’s non-Pro iPad lineup.
Color Options
We also expect the Pixel Tablet to be available in up to four colors, depending on the country. Google has already shown off two colors: green with a black frame and beige with a white bezel. The latter could be called “Porcelain,” while the former is likely “Hazel,” if this morning’s Charging Speaker Dock is anything to go by.
Pricing
Lastly, Quandt has tweeted today that Pixel Tablet “pricing looks like 600-650 Euros,” which would be $657~ to $711~. This pricing puts the device in the same range as other high-end tablets, such as the iPad Pro and the Samsung Galaxy Tab S8.
Comparison with Other Devices
Pixel 7
For comparison, the Pixel 7 is priced at €649 in Europe and sells for $599 in the United States. However, it’s important to note that the Charging Speaker Dock is not included in the price of the Pixel 7.
Samsung Galaxy Tab S8
The Samsung Galaxy Tab S8, which is comparable to the Pixel Tablet in terms of specs and features, costs $699 for the 128GB (2560 x 1600) model with an 11-inch screen, 8GB of RAM, Snapdragon 8 Gen 1, and S Pen stylus. This makes the Pixel Tablet a more affordable option for those looking for a high-end tablet.
The Pixel Tablet is shaping up to be a highly-anticipated device, and the latest leaks and details suggest that it will be a strong contender in the tablet market. With its high-end specs and affordable pricing, it’s sure to be a popular choice among tech enthusiasts.
