Meta has recently announced that it will reintroduce its Messenger feature to the main Facebook app, which will allow users to access Messenger directly from the Facebook app without the need to switch between apps. This decision comes after the social media behemoth separated Messenger from the main app in 2014, which received mixed responses from users. While some users found the separate app for messaging convenient, others thought it was troublesome to switch between apps.
The company’s objective in reintegrating Messenger into the main app is to provide a more seamless experience for users. The move aims to make it easier for users to connect with their friends and family through messaging, video calls, or other social features.

Furthermore, this move is expected to boost user engagement on the platform. With the ability to access Messenger and other social features from within the Facebook app, users are likely to spend more time on the platform, which would increase ad revenue for the company.
Facebook has been implementing a series of changes to enhance its platform’s user experience, such as the introduction of new privacy features and the elimination of certain ad targeting options. The reintroduction of Messenger to the main app is just one of many updates geared toward improving the user experience on the platform.
The update is currently being rolled out to users and will be available to all users in the coming weeks. To access Messenger from within the Facebook app, users can tap on the Messenger icon located in the top right corner of the screen.
