Safaricom also says one will periodically receive reminder SMS messages reminding them to update their details where they haven’t done so.

In order to update your details,

  1. Customers will be required to visit any of the registration points with the following
    • Identification Document used during Registration (Original)
    • Customer’s signature
  2. The Customer will need to agree to have their photo captured at the point of registration for added security.

That is about it, you do not need any photocopies of your identification details. Once details are submitted and reviewed, the customer will receive a text message informing them of the status of their lines within a period of 4 weeks.

To find your nearest Safaricom Shops, Dealer, or Agent;

  2. Select Find
  3. Pick Shop near me
  4. Follow prompts to locate the nearest shop

However, a public interest lawsuit challenging the directive by the Communications Authority to have people registering their SIM cards to submit a photo ID has been set for mention before the High Court on April 6.
