‘WhatsApp ruined the quality’ you’ve probably said or heard that phrase being used on the popular messaging app. Personally, I’d suggest sending uncompressed images using Telegram, however, if the recipient is not on Telegram or you generally prefer WhatsApp, here is how to send high-quality photos on the Meta app.
WhatsApp generally reduces the quality of the photos that you send and receive from both iPhone and Android phones by default. The messaging service reduces the photo quality by 70pc for faster data sharing purposes.
How to send high-quality photos on WhatsApp.
There are a couple of ways to do this, I have outlined two.
First:-
- On your WhatsApp, go to Settings.
- Tap on Storage and Data option.
- Scroll down to ‘Media upload quality’.
- Choose Best Quality.
This method will not allow you to send a full-quality image, but it will improve the quality of the picture by a significant margin.
Second:-
- Select the chat or group where you want to send the image.
- Tap on the clip icon next to the camera and WhatsApp payment icon in your text box.
- Select ‘Document’.
- Now browse through your files to find the image you want to send.
- Select the image and press ‘Send’.
And that’s it. You have successfully sent a high-resolution image on WhatsApp. This method is a little longer but will allow you to share full-quality images. The only downside to this method is that you will have to repeat the steps over and over every time you want to send a high-resolution image on WhatsApp.
