Google Chrome has rolled out several new features focusing on password sharing, customization, secure payments, and visual search capabilities. Here’s a comprehensive guide to these updates:
Password Sharing with Family
Chrome now enables secure password sharing within family groups through Google Password Manager. For iOS users, the feature can be accessed through the Chrome menu, followed by Password Manager. Android users can find it by tapping the Chrome menu, navigating to Settings, then Password Manager. Once there, users can select specific passwords and share them with designated family members.
Toolbar Customization
The new customization feature allows users to personalize their Chrome toolbar by accessing Chrome menu, followed by More Tools and Customize Chrome. Users can select from various toolbar buttons including bookmarks, print options, and Google Lens. These selected features can be pinned for quick access during browsing sessions.
Enhanced Payment Security
Chrome has improved its autofill security for payments with a new verification system. Users can access this feature through Settings, then Autofill and passwords, followed by Payment methods. By enabling “Manually verify every time you pay using autofill,” users can authenticate payments using biometric data (fingerprint or face scan) or PIN instead of entering card security codes.
Google Lens Integration
The new Google Lens feature enables visual search within Chrome, accessible through the Chrome menu by selecting “Search with Google Lens.” Users can click and drag to select any content on the page for visual search. Results appear in a side panel, where searches can be refined using the search box. For convenience, users can pin this feature to their toolbar for quick access during browsing sessions.
