Britam General Insurance is disrupting the car insurance industry with the launch of Motomatics, an innovative telematics-powered insurance product. In partnership with AiCare Telematics Ltd, Motomatics offers potential savings of up to 20% on insurance premiums for drivers who maintain safe driving habits and log less than 10,000 km annually.
This groundbreaking approach uses either an onboard device in your vehicle or a mobile app to track factors like speed, acceleration, braking patterns, and distance traveled. This data calculates a driving score that directly determines the insurance discount offered.
“Motomatic offers customers flexibility and cost efficiency, enabling them to access services that align with their lifestyles – especially within the motor insurance space that has seen minimal innovation,” said Tom Gitogo, Britam Group Managing Director and CEO. “The launch of Motomatics aligns with our purpose of safeguarding dreams and aspirations.”
Britam’s Director of Partnerships and Digital, Evah Kimani, added, “Our partnership with Aicare to support Motomatics positions Britam at the core of offering customer-centric solutions that are backed by data. This is the future of insurance where risk will be priced based on data specific to the customer.”
Motomatics provides annual coverage including compensation for accidental loss, damage to your vehicle, and third-party property damage. Customers can access driving analytics, file claims, obtain accident support, and purchase additional 10,000 km mileage blocks all through the Motomatics app or online account.
