Telegram, the popular messaging app, is celebrating its 11th anniversary with a major update introducing a suite of new features designed to enhance user experience and empower content creators. The update includes Star Reactions and Subscriptions, Super Channels, Paid Media for Bots, and a revamped document viewer for iOS.
Star Reactions and Subscriptions
Telegram is introducing a new way for users to support their favorite channels and content creators. With Star Reactions, users can send virtual stars to express appreciation, and channel owners can convert these stars into Toncoin cryptocurrency rewards or use them to subsidize advertising.
To further incentivize content creation, Telegram is allowing creators to create exclusive channels with paid subscriptions, offering subscribers access to premium content, early releases, and VIP experiences.
Super Channels
Telegram is expanding the capabilities of channels by introducing Super Channels. This new feature allows channel admins to post as their own profiles or as other channels, giving channels a more group-like feel and providing greater flexibility for content creators.
Paid Media for Bots
In another move to boost the creator economy, Telegram is enabling bots to post paid photos and videos in channels. This opens up new monetization opportunities for bot developers and allows channel owners to diversify their revenue streams.
Enhanced Document Viewer for iOS
To improve user experience, Telegram has introduced a revamped document viewer for iOS devices. Users can now open multiple documents in separate tabs within the Telegram browser, making it easier to switch between files and messages.
