African tech talent startup, TalentQL, last week launched AltSchool Africa, a school for individuals looking to gain technical skills and kickstart a career in Software Engineering.
AltSchool Africa takes a non-traditional approach to learning by teaching courses directly connected with the selected track.
“Our robust curriculum which combines theoretical knowledge with practical real-world applications is guaranteed to transform anyone into a top Software Engineer within one year.”
What if we give your parents what they want? Certification. And we give you what you need, Skills.

“We’re giving them diplomas because a lot of people can be good but cannot apply to certain opportunities because they do not have a certificate. So we’re giving them skills and a certificate.” Adewale Yusuf, co-founder, and CEO of TalentQL states.
Participants do not need to have a tech background to apply for the program and it is open to everyone above the age of 16. In addition, there are no tuition fees required although participants would have to pay a $20 application fee.
