Sony Unveils Project Q, a PlayStation Handheld That Can Stream PS5 Games

Sony has officially confirmed that it is working on a PlayStation handheld device called Project Q. The device was announced at the PlayStation Showcase on Wednesday and is designed to make it easier to play PS5 games on the go.

Project Q will have an 8-inch HD screen and all of the buttons and features of the DualSense wireless controller. It will also be able to stream games from a PS5 console at up to 1080p and 60fps over Wi-Fi.

According to Sony, games that are played on Project Q must be installed on a PlayStation 5 console. This means that the device is not a standalone gaming system, but rather a companion device that can be used to stream games from a PS5.

Project Q is set to launch later this year. Sony has not yet announced a price for the device.

Project Q in Context

The announcement of Project Q comes at a time when the handheld gaming market is becoming increasingly competitive. In recent years, we have seen the release of several successful handheld gaming devices, including the Nintendo Switch, Valve Steam Deck, and AYA Neo.

With Project Q, Sony is hoping to tap into the growing demand for handheld gaming devices. The company is also hoping to compete with the Nintendo Switch, which has been a huge success since its launch in 2017.

It remains to be seen whether Project Q will be a success. However, the device has the potential to be a hit with gamers who are looking for a way to play PS5 games on the go.

How to Try Remote Play Now

If you are interested in trying Remote Play to stream games from your PS5, you don’t need to wait for Sony’s handheld. Almost any iPhone, Android phone, Windows, or Mac can do it, and there’s even a Linux app you can load onto the Steam Deck called Chiaki.

To get started, you will need to download the Remote Play app from the App Store, Google Play, or the Microsoft Store. Once you have installed the app, you will need to connect your PS5 to the internet and enable Remote Play.

Once Remote Play is enabled, you can start streaming games from your PS5 to your device. To do this, open the Remote Play app and select your PS5 from the list of available devices.

You can then use the app to control your PS5 and play games. Keep in mind that the quality of the stream will depend on your internet connection.
