Samsung Galaxy S25 Series: What We Know So Far

Samsung’s Galaxy Unpacked 2025 event, scheduled for January 22nd in San Jose, promises to showcase the company’s latest flagship smartphones, with artificial intelligence (AI) taking center stage for another consecutive year.

Samsung plans to release the Galaxy S25 series on February 7th, roughly two weeks after the unveiling. While Samsung maintained competitive pricing for the S24 series starting at $799, market analysts, including Ming-Chi Kuo, suggest potential price increases due to the advanced 3nm process used in the new Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset.

The Galaxy S25 lineup introduces several notable improvements:

The series will feature the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset across all models, marking a significant performance upgrade. Both S25 and S25 Plus models will standardize with 12GB RAM, optimized for AI operations. Design changes include iPhone-inspired rounded corners and flat edges.

The international Samsung Galaxy S25 that surfaced on Geekbench has model code SM-S931B, runs Android 15, and has 12GB RAM onboard. It scored 2,986 and 9,355 points in Geekbench’s single and multi-core tests, respectively

Camera configurations for the base S25 and S25 Plus remain consistent with their predecessors, while battery capacities hold steady at 4,000 mAh and 4,900 mAh respectively. The series will introduce Qi2 magnetic wireless charging support.

Samsung’s emphasis on AI extends beyond hardware. The company plans to upgrade Bixby with generative AI capabilities, and all models will include complimentary access to Gemini Advanced’s AI features. This aggressive AI strategy positions Samsung to compete directly with Apple’s more conservative approach to virtual assistants.

A new Galaxy S25 Slim variant may join the lineup later, though timing remains uncertain. Samsung offers early registration incentives including a $50 credit for pre-orders, with additional trade-in benefits up to $900.

This comprehensive update to Samsung’s flagship line suggests the company’s commitment to leading smartphone AI innovation, potentially reshaping the premium phone market in 2025.
