Ray-Ban Meta glasses are evolving with new features that enhance usability, convenience, and fun. The latest v11 software update introduces live artificial intelligence (AI), live translation capabilities, and Shazam integration, making the glasses more powerful than ever before.
Live AI: Real-time assistance with hands-free video
As part of Meta’s Early Access Program, the new Live AI feature uses the glasses’ cameras to see what the wearer sees. This allows Meta AI to provide real-time support and inspiration for tasks such as cooking, gardening, or exploring new places.
Wearers can interact naturally with Meta AI, asking questions mid-task without repeatedly saying, “Hey Meta.” The system can also remember earlier parts of the conversation and offer useful suggestions when appropriate.
Live translation: Breaking down language barriers
Meta’s live translation feature enables real-time speech translation between English and Spanish, French, or Italian. When interacting with someone speaking one of these languages, the glasses deliver translations through open-ear speakers or as text transcripts in the Meta View app.
This feature is especially useful for travelers, as it helps users communicate seamlessly and overcome language barriers.
Shazam integration: Name that tune effortlessly
The update also integrates Shazam, allowing wearers to identify songs hands-free. Simply ask, “Hey Meta, what is this song?” to instantly recognize tracks playing around you. This feature is available to users in the U.S. and Canada.
The v11 software update is rolling out now. To access the new features, ensure your glasses and Meta View app are updated to the latest versions.
Users in the U.S. and Canada can join Meta’s Early Access Program to test Live AI and live translation. Enrollment is available through the Meta View app.
