The 5th annual Pulse Influencer Awards (Pulse 5) has crowned its 2025 winners, celebrating the most impactful, creative, and influential personalities who have defined online culture over the past year.

Following an intense voting period that closed in mid-October, the Pulse Influencer Awards ceremony recognized the champions across 26 categories, ranging from social media platforms like TikTok and YouTube to specialized niches like Positive Impact, Business, and Tech.

This year’s winners list features a compelling mix of established industry titans, niche-specific experts, and new-generation stars who have captured the public’s imagination.

The Titans of Kenyan Media: Music, Acting, and Platform Kings

Unsurprisingly, some of Kenya’s biggest celebrities solidified their dominance. Bien-Aime Baraza, riding a wave of success from his solo career post-Sauti Sol, deservedly won the Music Influencer of the Year.

In the acting categories, two of the industry’s most beloved figures took home the top prizes: Jackie Matubia was named Most Influential Actress of the Year, while the comedic powerhouse Dj Shiti won Most Influential Actor of the Year.

On the platform front, Murugi Munyi was crowned Instagram Influencer of the Year, with Mjakaa Mfine taking the top spot for TikTok. Judy Nyawira won YouTube Influencer of the Year, a nod to the massive growth of her popular “@bimkurugenzi” channel. Meanwhile, Dem Wa Facebook and the famously outspoken Maverick Aoko won for Facebook and X (formerly Twitter), respectively.

Celebrating Purpose, Passion, and Niche Expertise

The Pulse Influencer Awards also highlighted the incredible breadth of content in Kenya’s digital space. One of the night’s most significant wins went to Njeri Wa Migiwi for Positive Impact Influencer of the Year. Migiwi is the founder of “Usikimye,” a vital organization dedicated to fighting gender-based violence (GBV) and supporting survivors.

In the hotly contested Health and Fitness category, Amerix took home the award, a testament to his massive influence in the men’s holistic health and wellness space. Similarly, Friends of Karura won for Sustainability and Climate Change, proving that influence can also be wielded powerfully by organizations.

The “professional” platforms were also recognized, with Yvonne Kanyi winning Business Influencer of the Year and Miss Muthoni Njoroge securing the LinkedIn Influencer of the Year award.

The Buzzworthy Wins: Lifestyle and Fashion

This year’s awards were not without their share of headlines. Socialite Amber Ray won the coveted Lifestyle Influencer of the Year award.

In a move that sparked widespread conversation during the nomination phase, the Fashion Influencer of the Year award was won by Africana Rapudo, Amber Ray’s young daughter. Her win cements one of the most talked-about pulse influencer awards categories of the 2025 awards season.
