Meta Launches Split Payments, Vanish Mode and More on Messenger

Meta announced last year that it was testing a payment feature dubbed Split Payment on Facebook Messenger to allow users to share the cost of bills and expenses from within a group chat

Now, Meta has launched the feature in the US for both iOS and Android devices. The Facebook company has also rolled out voice message recording controls and a mode for sending vanishing messages.

The new voice message recording controls let you pause, preview, delete or continue recording a voice message before sending it. Meta has also increased the duration of voice messages from one minute to 30 minutes.

With Vanish Mode, your messages disappear after they’re seen. And if you can’t find the right words, you can also send disappearing memes, GIFs, stickers, or reactions. To turn on Vanish mode, open an existing chat thread on your mobile device and swipe up. Swipe up again, and you’re back to your regular chat.
