Tired of constant ads and sponsor segments interrupting your YouTube viewing on your Samsung TV? TizenTube is the solution you’re looking for. Here’s a step-by-step guide on how to install it.
If you own a modern Samsung Smart TV, you’re running Tizen OS. While it’s a fast and powerful operating system, the native YouTube app is filled with unskippable ads. TizenTube is a popular third-party modification that integrates directly with your TV’s YouTube app to provide a premium, uninterrupted experience.
Unlike an app you can download from the Samsung App Store, TizenTube is a module that requires a special homebrew loader called TizenBrew.
This guide will walk you through the entire process, from enabling developer mode to installing the TizenTube module for an ad-free experience.
What TizenTube Does
TizenTube is not a new YouTube app. Instead, it’s a powerful patch that enhances the official app. Its key features include:
- Blocks All Video Ads: Say goodbye to pre-roll, mid-roll, and all other video advertisements.
- SponsorBlock Integration: Automatically skips in-video sponsored segments, intros, “like and subscribe” reminders, and more.
- Ad-Free Interface: Removes banner ads from the app’s user interface.
- Removes Clickbait: Uses the DeArrow API to replace sensationalized thumbnails and titles with more accurate ones.
- Speed Controls: Allows you to adjust the playback speed of videos.
How to Install TizenTube on Your Samsung TV (Step-by-Step)
This installation is a three-part process. It may look technical, but if you follow the steps carefully, it’s straightforward.
Compatibility: This method works for most Samsung Smart TVs from 2017 (Tizen 3.0) and newer.

Part 1: Enable Developer Mode on Your TV
First, you must give your TV permission to install non-store applications.
- On your Samsung TV, navigate to and open the “Apps” screen.
- On your remote control, press the number keys in sequence: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5.
- A Developer Mode menu will appear. Read the notice and select “On” to enable it.
- You will be prompted to enter a “Host PC IP”. This is the IP address of the computer you will use for the advanced installation. For the simple method below, you can enter any IP (e.g.,
192.168.0.100), or simply your computer’s IP address if you know it. - Select “OK” or “Done.”
- A prompt will ask you to reboot your TV. Turn your TV off and then back on. Developer Mode is now active.
Part 2: Install the TizenBrew Loader
TizenBrew is the “app store” for homebrew modules like TizenTube. The easiest way to install it is by using your TV’s built-in web browser.
- From your Samsung TV’s home screen, open the “Web Browser” app.
- In the URL address bar at the top, carefully type the following web address:
- Press “Go” or “Enter” on the remote.
- The page will load, and you should see a button that says “Install TizenBrew.”
- Select this button. The TizenBrew app (
.wgtfile) will be downloaded and installed on your TV. - Once the installation is complete, you can close the web browser. TizenBrew will now be available in your “Apps” list.
Part 3: Install the TizenTube Module
Now that the TizenBrew loader is installed, you can finally add the TizenTube module.
- Go to your “Apps” screen and open the TizenBrew app you just installed.
- Once TizenBrew is open, press the GREEN (B) button on your remote control to open the Module Manager.
- Select the option to “Add a new module” or “Install Module.”
- You will be prompted to enter the module name. Using the on-screen keyboard, type the following exactly:
@foxreis/tizentube
- Select “Done” or “Install.” TizenBrew will now download and install the TizenTube module.
- After the installation is finished, reboot your TV (turn it off and on again).
That’s it! The next time you open the official YouTube app on your TV, TizenTube will be active in the background, blocking all ads and sponsored content automatically.
Troubleshooting & Advanced Method
Disclaimer: You are installing third-party software on your TV in Developer Mode. This is not supported by Samsung and is done at your own risk. The TizenTube project is open-source and widely trusted, but you should always be aware of the risks of sideloading.
If the web browser method in Part 2 fails, there is a more advanced (but more reliable) method that involves using a PC.
This method requires you to download Tizen Studio and the TizenBrew Device Manager onto your computer. You will need to use these tools to create a “Samsung Certificate,” connect your PC to your TV (using the IP address you set in Developer Mode), and manually “resign” and push the TizenBrew app file (.wgt) to your TV.
This process is highly technical. For a full guide, visit the official TizenTube and TizenBrew developer pages on GitHub.
