Instagram, the popular social media platform, has introduced a feature that allows users to download public Reels natively. This feature is a game-changer for content creators and consumers alike, as it allows for easy sharing and saving of content. Here’s a step-by-step guide on how to use this feature.
What are Instagram Reels?
Reels are Instagram’s latest video feature, and are the image sharing platform’s answer to TikTok. They let users post videos of up to 60 seconds long and add music, text, and filters.
How to Download Your Own Instagram Reels
- Open Instagram and navigate to your account.
- Go to the Reels tab.
- Find the Reel you want to save, then tap on it to open the video in full-screen mode.
- Hit the three dots in the bottom right corner to pull up the menu.
- Hit ‘Save to Camera Roll’. The video will automatically save to your device.
How to Download Reels
Instagram now allows users to download Reels posted by others so they can share them outside the app. Here’s how:
- Choose any public Reel appearing in your feed.
- Tap on the airplane icon and the option to Download will appear.
- Just tap on that and the video will start downloading on your device.
Please note that Reels from only public accounts are eligible for download. Plus, public accounts can turn off the ability to download Reels.
