Hacker Group Anonymous Warns Kenyan Government Over #RejectFinanceBill2024 Protests

Popular hacktivist group Anonymous has issued a stern warning to the Kenyan government regarding its handling of the ongoing protests against the proposed Finance Bill 2024.

While Anonymous doesn’t have a centralized, official representation and is against control. There are several different Twitter accounts that are (apparently) operated by Anons. None of them is, or claims to be, an official representation of the group.

Using the hashtag #RejectFinanceBill2024, an Anonymous Twitter account has voiced concerns over the potential violation of civil liberties and the right to peaceful protest. The group emphasizes the importance of upholding the rule of law and respecting the voices of dissent in a democratic society.

The Finance Bill 2024 has sparked widespread protests and debate across Kenya due to its controversial tax proposals. Citizens have taken to the streets and social media to express their disapproval, raising concerns about the potential impact on the economy and livelihoods.

Anonymous’s warning serves as a reminder that the international community is closely watching the situation in Kenya. The group’s involvement highlights the power of digital activism in holding governments accountable and amplifying the voices of those demanding change.
