We have known that Showmax Pro, is shutting down for a while now, from the 1st of October, 2023, the streaming service has not been available for new subscriptions. MultiChoice is shutting down its Showmax Pro sports streaming service over the next two months. In a FAQ post on its website, the company explained that Showmax Pro, in its current form, would be phased out by 30 November 2023 due to the upcoming Showmax relaunch.
A new sports offering focused solely on English Premier League (EPL) football will be announced with new pricing “soon”, MultiChoice said. As compensation for the shutdown, existing Showmax Pro customers are being offered an exclusive DStv Premium Stream deal at the same price as Showmax Pro with one month free.
“Pay the same price as Showmax Pro – just Kes 2100pm – before your complimentary month ends to keep enjoying DStv Premium Stream.” Multichoice states.
What is DStv Premium Stream?
DStv Premium Stream is a new offering that will provide access to more live sports from SuperSport, including the Premier League, La Liga, Serie A, and additional sports like the NBA, NFL UFC, and even F1. Customers will be able to stream 115+ live channels, access the entire catalog of the DStv video-on-demand library, and continue to have full access to Showmax’s entertainment catalog.
Existing Showmax Pro subscribers in select markets can stream even more live sports from SuperSport with an exclusive DStv Stream and Showmax bundle deal. If you were an active Showmax Pro customer, check your email for more details on the amazing deal.
How to Activate the DStv Premium Stream Special Offer
Step 1: Check Your Eligibility
This offer is available for take up between 16 October 2023 and 10 November 2023, by invitation only. To participate in the offer, you must:
- Be an active Showmax Pro subscriber or have been a Showmax Pro subscriber disconnected for not more than 12 months.
- Be in one of the participating markets.
- Have accepted the invitation to take up the offer within the offer Period.
Step 2: Wait for the Invitation
Eligible customers (Showmax Pro customers) will receive an email or SMS communication from either Showmax or DStv directing them to activate this offer.
Step 3: Activate the Offer
Customers will need to click on “GET OFFER” and continue following provided instructions on each step to complete their offer take-up journey.
Step 4: Confirm Activation
Once the offer is activated, you will receive an email communication from MultiChoice/DStv to confirm your account status is active.
Step 5: Enjoy Your Free Month
The first month of the deal is on us, customers can access our content on DStv Premium Stream at no cost. However, customers who take up the first month offer (month 1), will be eligible to take up the DStv Premium Stream package at the price of Showmax Pro for the next 2 months (Month 2 & month 3).
Step 6: Continue Your Subscription
You will be required to make payment by no later than the last day of the free Premium Stream viewing cycle (month 1), for example, if you take up the offer on 20 October 2023, you will watch Premium Stream for free until November 20, 2023.
Remember, this offer is not transferable. Only customers who receive the email/SMS invitation from Showmax will be eligible. Enjoy your DStv Premium Stream experience!
