Netmarble has officially launched its action/adventure roleplaying game, Game of Thrones: Kingsroad, on PC (via Steam, Epic Games Store, and Windows Launcher) and mobile devices (Android and iOS). The global release, which excludes Asia for now (slated for later in 2025), follows an earlier access period exclusively on PC. Cross-play functionality is enabled between PC and mobile versions once accounts are linked.

Powered by Unreal Engine 5, Game of Thrones: Kingsroad aims to immerse players in the world of Westeros. The launch update introduces significant new content, most notably the Stormlands region, the domain ruled by Stannis Baratheon in the popular series.

New Content in the Stormlands and Beyond:

With the addition of the Stormlands, players can explore new story missions and engage in various side content, including:

  • Ferocious Beast encounters
  • Bandit Camps to clear
  • “Echoes of the Past” activities
  • Discoverable Historic Sites
  • Liberating Occupied Sites
  • Exploring Gods Haven

The update also brings several gameplay enhancements:

  • Level Cap Increase: The maximum player level has been raised from 40 to 45.
  • New Artifacts: Four new Artifacts have been added (one Legendary, one Epic, and two Uncommon).
  • New Achievements: Players can earn new achievements for accomplishments in the Stormlands and for defeating specific formidable foes like the Unicorn and Drogon.
  • Emote System: An emote system has been introduced, accessible via an icon in the chat window, allowing for more expressive player interaction.

Launch Celebration and Future Ambitions

To celebrate the official global launch, Netmarble is offering daily random rewards to players who visit the game’s Web Shop through June 5th. Potential rewards include in-game currency like Golden Dragons and Copper, crafting materials such as Iron Ore and Silver Ore, and other items like the Ruin Runner and Artifact Expedition Requisitions.

The developers have previously stated their long-term ambition to incorporate all remaining regions of Westeros into the game. However, as a live service title, the continuation and expansion of Game of Thrones: Kingsroad will likely depend on its popularity and player engagement. If the game achieves significant success, players may eventually see the entirety of the iconic fantasy world brought to life. Conversely, like many live service games, its longevity will be tied to its performance in the market.
