The 9th edition of the Africa Tech Summit London is scheduled to take place on June 6, 2025, at the prestigious London Stock Exchange. The summit will bring together over 350 investors, founders, and key industry leaders to explore avenues for unlocking international capital for African technology ventures and discuss the evolving landscape of innovation and investment on the continent.
The summit arrives at a critical juncture for Africa’s startup ecosystem, which is demonstrating resilience amidst global economic uncertainties. While a funding slowdown has been observed since 2022, recent data indicates a promising rebound. According to insights from “Africa: The Big Deal,” African startups raised $343 million in April 2025 alone, marking the second-highest April total since 2022. Total funding from January to April 2025 reached $803 million, a significant 43% increase compared to the same period in the previous year.
Investor confidence also appears to be on the upswing, with over 225 unique investors participating in deals across Africa in early 2025. If this momentum continues, total funding for the year is projected to surpass 2024 figures.
“The funding taps may have slowed, but the appetite for scalable, impactful African solutions hasn’t gone anywhere,” said Andrew Fassnidge, Founder of Africa Tech Summit. “In a complex, shifting economic landscape, we need bold conversations, real opportunities, and capital that moves.”
This year’s summit is supported by prominent partners including Amazon Web Services (AWS), Flutterwave, Fincra, Tola Mobile, Bank of America, the UK Department for Business and Trade, Payaza Africa, Wimbart, and TLP Advisor.
Confirmed speakers represent leading organizations such as Helios Investment Partners, Cassava Technologies, Novastar Ventures, Deloitte, Goodwin, and Catalyst Fund. Discussions will cover a wide range of critical topics, including:
- The impact of Generative AI on African innovation
- Capital raising strategies and IPO opportunities
- Cross-border digital payments
