Adobe is expanding its creative suite to mobile with the launch of Premiere for iPhone, a full-featured video editor that promises pro-level editing on the go. The app will roll out later this month, with an Android version also in the works.

Unlike Premiere Rush, Adobe’s simplified mobile editor, the new Premiere app brings a multi-track timeline that supports unlimited layers of video, audio, and text. Users can expect advanced features like automatic captioning, 4K HDR editing, and one-tap exporting directly to TikTok, YouTube Shorts, and Instagram. The app also includes automatic resizing to perfectly frame content for each platform.

While the iOS app will be free to download and use, Adobe notes that additional cloud storage and generative AI credits will come at a cost. Built-in AI tools include generative sound effects, speech enhancement, and Firefly-powered AI assets. Creators who prefer not to use AI will still have access to Adobe fonts, music, images, and video assets that are free to use.

Mike Polner, Adobe’s vice president of creator product marketing, said Premiere on iPhone brings “pro-level creative control without the pro-level complexity.” He added that the app puts the same power trusted by filmmakers, designers, animators, and YouTubers into the most convenient device for modern creators — their phone.

For mobile-first creators, this launch could be a game-changer. Premiere’s arrival on iPhone means that everything from capture to editing and publishing can now happen in one place, without the need for a desktop setup.
