CANAL+ has announced a sweeping reorganization of its Brand and Communication Department as it completes its strategic integration with MultiChoice, signaling a new phase in the company’s global media strategy.
The move introduces a streamlined international communication framework built around two core regions, Africa and Europe/Asia, a structure designed to enhance collaboration and strengthen the CANAL+ brand across multiple markets.
Africa Leadership: Hala Saab Takes Over Continental Communications
In a major leadership update for Africa, Hala Saab has been appointed Director of Communication, expanding her role to include oversight of English- and Portuguese-speaking MultiChoice markets. Saab will now manage all CANAL+ communication activities across Africa, guiding brand positioning and public relations strategy for both the Francophone and Anglophone regions.
A graduate in Strategic Marketing from ISC Paris, Saab joined CANAL+ in 2001 and has played a key role in shaping the company’s international communications, leading multiple high-impact campaigns and partnerships over the years.
Europe and Asia: Armelle Masson to Lead Regional Strategy
In the Europe and Asia division, Armelle Masson steps into the role of Director of Communication, managing operations across Europe (excluding France), Vietnam, and Myanmar. Masson, who graduated from Université Paris Panthéon-Sorbonne, joined CANAL+ in 2005 and most recently served as Communication Manager at CANAL+ International, where she developed strong expertise in global brand storytelling.
Both Saab and Masson will report directly to Emilie Pietrini, Chief Brand and Communication Officer at CANAL+, ensuring unified messaging and coordinated campaigns across global markets.

France Operations Remain Steady
In France, the Brand and Communication Department remains divided into two complementary divisions:
-
Céline Pontygayot, who continues to lead Advertising Communication, and
-
Olivia Abehassera, who oversees Corporate and Programmes Communication.
This stable leadership structure in France supports the company’s broader goal of maintaining strong domestic brand presence while advancing its global expansion.
A Global Strategy for a Unified Brand
The reorganization follows CANAL+’s recent merger with MultiChoice, a landmark move that cemented the group’s position as one of the largest media and entertainment networks across Europe and Africa.
By aligning its communication strategy across continents, CANAL+ aims to deliver a more cohesive brand experience and leverage the strengths of both companies to engage audiences across languages, cultures, and digital platforms.
The new structure reflects CANAL+’s ambition to evolve from a regional broadcaster into a truly global media powerhouse, one capable of shaping narratives across Africa, Europe, and Asia in an increasingly connected world.
