$500,000 Fund Aims to Empower 40 Tech Talents with Education and Internships

The Patoranking Foundation and ALX Africa have joined forces to create a substantial scholarship program. This initiative, valued at $500,000 (approximately R9.4 million), aims to bridge the gap between potential and opportunity for Africa’s youth.

The Patoranking Foundation, established by Afrobeats star Patoranking (Patrick Nnaemeka Okorie), is a key player in this scholarship program. Their mission to empower young minds aligns perfectly with ALX Africa’s dedication to providing high-quality tech education.

The Patoranking Foundation Tech Scholarship will identify and support 40 exceptional young individuals. These scholarships will provide access to transformative tech training programs in various fields like coding, software development, data analysis, and Salesforce administration. The curriculum is designed to equip students with the most sought-after skills in today’s tech landscape.

The program goes beyond academics by offering valuable real-world experience through paid internships with the foundation’s tech partners. This practical component allows students to apply their newly acquired knowledge in a professional setting, solidifying their skills and building confidence.

Divesh Sooka, General Manager of ALX South Africa, emphasizes the program’s potential to empower young Africans. He highlights the opportunity to not only equip them with cutting-edge skills but also foster a culture of innovation and resilience. This initiative aims to tackle youth unemployment in South Africa while shaping the nation’s digital future.

As a leading tech skills provider, ALX Africa focuses on equipping young people with the technical and soft skills needed to thrive in the digital age. Their mission aligns with the Patoranking Foundation’s vision of creating pathways for young Africans to excel in a technology-driven world.

The Patoranking Foundation’s Sky Level Initiative underscores their commitment to providing access to top-tier education for deserving young leaders across Africa, regardless of background. Their ambitious goal is to empower one million African youths over the next decade, fostering sustainable development on the continent.

The renowned musician himself acknowledges the potential for exceptional talent to emerge from anywhere in Africa. He emphasizes that financial limitations should not hinder the rise of the next great African innovator who can revolutionize the status quo.

Sooka emphasizes the need for agility and adaptability in today’s ever-changing world. ALX Africa’s training programs are designed to meet the challenges and opportunities presented by the Fourth Industrial Revolution. By fostering tech leaders with the right skillset, they aim to equip a generation capable of tackling real-world problems and driving positive change.

The Patoranking Foundation and ALX Africa invite all aspiring tech talents to apply for this scholarship opportunity. This program holds immense potential to empower the next generation of African tech pioneers and shape the continent’s digital future.
