Spotify is introducing a wave of new updates designed to make music listening more personal, immersive, and social. The company has added five new features that enhance personalization, sound quality, and user connection, solidifying its position as one of the most innovative music platforms in the world.

1. Spotify Recommendations in ChatGPT

Spotify has integrated with ChatGPT, allowing users to receive personalized song and playlist recommendations directly through OpenAI’s chatbot. Once connected, users can ask for music to fit their mood, event, or setting, and instantly get curated suggestions. The integration supports both Free and Premium accounts in select English-speaking regions.

To try it, users simply mention Spotify in a ChatGPT conversation and connect their account when prompted. They can then ask for specific songs, albums, playlists, or podcasts, and tap to open and start listening instantly.

2. Exclude Tracks from Taste Profile

Spotify now gives users the ability to exclude specific tracks from influencing their personalized recommendations. This is especially useful for one-off listens, such as sleep sounds, children’s music, or background noise.

To use this feature, listeners can open the three-dot menu on any song and select “Exclude from your Taste Profile.” The track will no longer affect playlists like Discover Weekly or Wrapped, helping Spotify maintain accurate personalization focused on real user preferences.

3. Stream in Lossless Audio

Spotify Premium subscribers can now enjoy music in lossless audio quality, with up to 24-bit and 44.1 kHz FLAC sound. This means listeners can experience the same audio quality that artists hear in the studio.

The setting can be found under Media Quality in the app’s settings. Users can choose when to enable lossless playback, whether on Wi-Fi, mobile, or downloaded files. The feature works best with wired headphones or supported devices connected through Spotify Connect.

Spotify has launched a new in-app Messages feature that allows users to share songs, podcasts, and audiobooks directly with friends. This new messaging system enables conversations, reactions, and media sharing without leaving the app.

To use it, listeners tap the share icon while playing content, choose a friend, and send a message. Once a message request is accepted, users can chat and exchange media seamlessly inside Spotify. This feature is available in select regions for users aged sixteen and above.

5. Seamless Transitions Between Tracks

Spotify Premium users can now create smoother transitions between songs with the new Mix tool. The feature lets users fade tracks into each other, adjust equalizer settings, and control volume levels for a consistent flow.

To access the Mix tool, open a playlist, tap “Mix,” and select either automatic settings or customize transitions manually. Listeners can then save and share their personalized playlists. The feature is currently in beta and available globally to eligible users.

A More Personalized Future for Spotify

These new updates represent Spotify’s ongoing mission to make music streaming more intuitive and connected. By combining artificial intelligence, improved sound quality, and enhanced sharing options, the company continues to evolve into a fully interactive listening platform.

With features like ChatGPT integration and in-app social messaging, Spotify is positioning itself at the intersection of music, technology, and personalization—giving users new ways to discover, connect, and enjoy their favorite sounds.
