3 New Google Photos Features We Like on the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro

Google has today announced their new flagship device, the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro. While these devices are cool and all, something that caught our eye was all the new AI-powered software features on these devices. These features build on the AI technology from Google Research behind tools like Magic Eraser and Photo Unblur. Here are the three most interesting features in Google Photos on the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro that we liked the most.

Best Take

The new Best Take feature uses a series of similar photos taken close together to help you automatically create a blended image with everyone’s best expression. If you prefer another expression, you can manually select another look from the other photos you took to get the group photo you want.

Magic Editor

Magic Editor is a new experimental editing experience that uses generative AI to help you easily make complex edits and bring your photos in line with how you remember a moment. You can resize or reposition your subject, improve the lighting and background, and even change a gray sky to a golden-hour sunset.

Audio Magic Eraser

Audio Magic Eraser uses advanced machine learning models to identify sounds — like people talking in the background, music, or wind — and sort them into distinct layers that you can control. This feature helps reduce distracting background noises in your videos
